Some days I’ve got a pretty cool job. I get to “peek behind the curtain” at lifestyles far beyond my own and get to see and meet people and places often only seen on TV and in magazines.
I spent the morning at the offices of Chanel, then went to lunch at Amaranth (a little French place off of 57th Street) where we happened to sit next to Carly Simon, then had a meeting at the offices of Salvatore Ferragamo (Italian designer).
At Chanel, while I wasn’t able to snap any photos as proof, let me assure you that the offices are not nearly as “couture” as you might imagine… however ALL the women I saw there are!
Of course, I couldn’t sneak any photos of Carly Simon, and I restrained myself from gushing or asking for an autograph. I CAN vouch for the fact that she has, perhaps, a smile to rival Julia Roberts!
But, dear readers, I saved some “sneak peek” eye candy for last!- at Ferragamo, as I was walking back from the ladies room, I walked past a “closet”/sample area that, with its bright lights and cacophony of Italian shoesshirtsjacketsscarvesdressespantssuitspursesohboy! came straight out of the scene from The Devil Wears Prada when Stanley Tucci bestows a fashion makeover on Anne Hathaway. Sadly, Stanley wasn’t there!
